STATE REPRESENTATIVE MAKES DONATION TO MC ENDOWMENT FOR HEALTHCARE’S MUSIC AND MEMORY PROGRAM
The Murray Calloway Endowment for Healthcare recently received a $250 donation from State Representative Kenny Imes towards the Dr. Jan Weaver Music and Memory program at Spring Creek Health Care.
This program supports the training of eight employees who
have recently completed their Music & Memory Training Certification
allowing them to work with dementia and Alzheimer patients by providing high
quality, person-centered care through digital music technology. These employees
will identify those residents who could benefit from the program and work with
them to provide iPods with personalized playlists tailored for each one.
State Representative Kenny Imes has supported many of the Endowments events in the past such as: the Murray Half Marathon, Concert Series, Aiming for Prevention: Trap and Turkey Shoot, Hospice House building project and the Golf Tournament.
“We are thankful for support from State Representative Kenny Imes,” said Keith Travis, VP of Development. “He supports us at our local events and at the state level. He approved the funding for the Arts Council which has helped us receive a grant to support the Music and Memory Program.”
