MURRAY-CALLOWAY COUNTY HOSPITAL RECOGNIZES NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK

Posted 05/03/2017

This year’s National Hospital Week runs from May 7-13. We at MCCH are invested in caring from the heart every day of every year. Join us in thanking the many individuals who give their all to their neighbors. From providing medical care in our facilities to running vital programs in our community, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being in and around Murray and Calloway County.

“National Hospital Week, first and foremost, is a celebration of people,” Jerry Penner, CEO of Murray-Calloway County Hospital said. “We’re extremely proud of each member of our staff and we recognize the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities.”

The following activities are planned for 2017:

• Hospital Wide Cookout
• Pancake Breakfast
• Wellness Works Wednesday which includes free body mass index and waist circumference screenings

The nation’s largest health care event, National Hospital Week dates back to 1921 when it was suggested by a magazine editor who hoped a community wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals. The celebration, launched in Chicago, succeeded in promoting trust and goodwill among members of the public and eventually spread to facilities across the country.
