About MCCH

New South Tower

The new South Tower is a 158,000 square foot modern facility built to provide healthcare services for our region for years to come. Patients and visitors are greeted through a new main entrance into a lobby area with a two-story atrium and centralized registration. The main floor consists of  Radiology, a new ER, and Cardiopulmonary.

One of the key highlights of the South Tower is its Emergency Department, which features 13 triage rooms, increasing from 8 at the current facility, which will allow us to treat patients more efficiently and decrease wait times.

Another highlight is the new Pathology Department and Perioperative Area located on the second floor. In order to accommodate our increasing surgical population and practitioners who provide care to patients throughout our region, the hospital has expanded the number of operating suites from six to eight. These new surgical suites are built utilizing the latest advanced technology, creating some of the most modern operating rooms in the region. The new surgical floor also includes a new preoperative and recovery area. The preoperative area was designed specifically with patient privacy and comfort in mind. The expansive new waiting area allows plenty of space for family members to wait comfortably for their loved ones.

The 3rd floor offers a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit. The two units can move from one to another as they transition their levels of care and progress allowing for efficient patient care. There are customized built-in lifts for bariatric patients, and both critical care and progressive care are increasing from eight rooms to ten rooms.

In addition, the South Tower was created to offer private rooms on floors 4 and 5 in a soothing and relaxing atmosphere for patients and guests. In fact, when the South Tower opens, every patient room throughout the hospital will be transitioned to all private rooms.

We understand that our campus is larger, so we've implemented a new concierge program in which members of our Executive Team, Department Directors, and employees are proud to assist you in finding your way around or with any needs you might have. If you have a question, simply ask our staff members and we will be happy to assist you.
