RICHARDSON NAMED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AT MURRAY-CALLOWAY COUNTY HOSPITAL

Donna Richardson, HR Benefits Coordinator, has been named the 2018 Employee of the Year at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

A 14-year employee, Richardson was nominated by her peers and chosen by the MCCH executive team as the Employee of the Month in August 2018. She was named Employee of the Year out of all twelve monthly award winners.

“I was really surprised and did not expect it to be me because I work in Human Resources and not on the clinical side,” said Donna.

Donna assists employees with questions regarding benefits claim issues or on anything related with benefits from dental and retirement to tuition reimbursement, FMLA, and student loan repayments.

Donna commented, “Everyone is busy and what I enjoy is being able to help and guide people with their benefits and claims so they understand and don’t have to worry.”

Comments from her nominations (employees submitted individual recommendations) include:

  • Donna always puts our employee’s needs at the forefront of everything. I have witnessed her on many occasions going the extra mile to help an employee with their benefits, FMLA, and Retirement. Many times Donna will be at lunch when an employee comes into HR asking for her. She will immediately stop eating and go out to assist them.

  • Her main goal is to make sure employees understand their benefits and options when it comes to treatment. She has a wealth of knowledge and is totally dedicated to MCCH.

  • Donna has compassion for every employee she helps. There are times when an employee is frustrated and Donna is able to diffuse the situation by being calm and understanding. Employees know that they can trust Donna with the most confidential of situations.

  • Donna is a team player. She gladly will assist others within the HR department when it is needed. She’ll always ask if there is anything we need her to do.
