CLINICAL TRIALS PROGRAM WITH THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE
When circumstances demand an extraordinary regimen, the Regional Cancer Center has access to some of the newest and most promising cancer-fighting treatments available. Thanks to a clinical trials program with The National Cancer Institute, our special needs cancer patients will have access to the latest experimental drugs and treatments without having to travel out of town. Local access to these new therapies means our physicians can aggressively treat even the rarest forms of cancer with greater anticipation of success.
Cancer clinical trials may not be what you think, they are a treatment option best considered at the time of diagnosis. Clinical trials provide patients at all stages of cancer with the most cutting edge medical treatment and the highest level of care.
If you are interested in more information on clinical trials, go to www.cancer.org and click on Clinical Trials. This site allows you to find information about clinical trials and find specific trials that would meet your needs. You may also call 1-800-ACS-2345 to speak with someone about the services offered and possibly be matched up for a trial on the phone. If you are matched for a trial, be sure to notify your managing physician.
At www.clinicaltrials.gov you can obtain additional information and a list of specific questions to ask your physician if you are interested in finding a clinical trial to meet your needs.
