The Nutrition Department at Murray-Calloway County Hospital has Registered Dietitians dedicated to counseling Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology Departments.  The RD is available to discuss a variety of nutrition guidelines and recommendations based on the type of cancer you have and the treatment you are receiving.

Services include:

  • Nutrition management of side effects from cancer treatment
  • Personalized, individual meal plans for optimal health
  • Nutrition management of tube feedings
  • Education on diet and general wellness before, during and after cancer treatments
  • Education on nutrition supplements
  • Tolerable recipes during cancer treatment

Murray Calloway County Hospital is pleased to provide free nutrition counseling as an integrated service of our oncology care.


Designed for individuals recovering from any type of cancer and cancer treatment.

Program Benefits:

  • The Center for Health and Wellness provides specific times when trained staff is available to supervise cancer recovery members.

  • Dedicated coaching by an experienced Exercise Specialist.

Massage therapy is useful for people undergoing or recovering from, cancer treatment. Massage can help to reduce pain, anxiety and depression.  Be sure to talk to your Oncologist or Radiologist prior to making an appointment for a massage.  Call 270.762.1348 to schedule a massage at the Center for Health and Wellness.


The MCCH Breast Cancer Support Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every Month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Center for Health and Wellness. Contact Evelyn Wallis at 270.489.1854.


Freedom From Smoking
Calloway County Health Department is offering the Freedom From Smoking program to help you gain control and stop smoking.  This program consists of 8 sessions.  The program will be taught by an American Lung Association-trained facilitator in a small group setting (limited to 20 people) using proven techniques.  Call 270.753.3381 to reserve your place in the next class.

Plan to be Tobacco Free
The 60 minute program is presented by a KCP tobacco treatment navigator and includes tips on correct use of cessation medications; reliable, trusted resources; and discussion of how to tailor a quit plan to increase an individual’s odds of quitting successfully.  Contact Nicole Hudson at 270.762.1832.
