Covid-19 Operating Procedures
In accordance with recommendations from the Kentucky Department of Health, we are open with limited waiting room seating and increased cleaning/disinfecting procedures. All providers will be wearing masks and we ask our patients to do the same.
We encourage you to continue to use discretion with your visits out of the home as there may be a resurgence of Covid-19 cases with more social interaction. Please wear your mask when you are out of the home.
Murray-Calloway County Hosital (MCCH) is pleased to offer an oncology and hematology practice headed by Zuhair Ghanem, MD, along with the resources of chemotherapy and the infusion center.
Located at 803 Poplar Street, 2 West, Oncology & Hematology of Murray offers treatment for a wide array of cancers, as well as benign hematological conditions.
In addition to treating cancer patients, Ghanem will work closely and provide medical leadership to the chemotherapy and outpatient infusion center at the Regional Cancer Center.
MEET OUR PROVIDERS
Dr. Zuhair Ghanem, M.D., has joined Murray-Calloway County Hospital to provide Oncology and Hematology services for the region.
Dr. Ghanem graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Amman, Jordan, with his Doctor of Medicine. He completed a Hematology/Medical Oncology fellowship at Howard University Hospital, in Washington, D.C., as well as training at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, National Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins University’s Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Ghanem also completed a Geriatrics Fellowship at the Arizona Center on Aging, at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Geriatrics Society, and American College of Physicians.
In his spare time, Dr. Ghanem enjoys fishing, hiking, photography and travel.
Alison graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and completed her Master of Science in Nursing also at Murray State University.She has 22 years of experience in hematology and oncology. Alison works alongside Dr. Ghanem planning care and providing follow up care to cancer patients in our region.
