PATIENT & VISITOR INFORMATION

At Murray-Calloway County Hospital, we want to be your choice for healthcare. We will do everything possible to make your stay here pleasant and comfortable. We know that no one ever wants to be sick or in the hospital, but if you find that you or a family member needs medical care, you can count on MCCH. Our goal is to continue to offer you the services you need while providing excellent care.

Visitors

Most of the time you will find that visitors are good medicine. However, because rest is an important part of a patient’s recovery, we ask that visitors help by considering the following suggestions:

  • Speak quietly and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • All children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • We ask that you observe General Visiting Hours when possible.

General Visiting Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Maternity Visiting Hours: Unrestricted visiting hours for parents, siblings and children over 12 years of age unless mother is observing Quiet Moments, which are as follows:
9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
10:15 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.

Critical Care / Progressive Care Visiting Hours: General visiting hours are observed. Limited visiting hours may apply, dependent upon patient needs.

4 South / Medical Unit: Unrestricted

5 South / Medical Unit: Unrestricted

2 North / Wound Care: Unrestricted

3 North / Obstetrics: Unrestricted

Inpatient Rehabilitation: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Geriatric Behavioral Health: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

Emergency Room: The Emergency Department allows two visitors to remain with an adult patient.

PARKING

For visitors, parking is conveniently located parallel to Poplar Street at the hospitals North Entrance. Parking is also available at the South Tower/Vine Street Entrance, Medical Arts Building, and outside of the West and East Entrance.

SMOKING

In order to provide a healthy and safe environment, there is a designated smoking area located just outside of the Emergency Department. Smoking is not allowed inside the building.

PERSONAL SECURITY

For everyone’s safety, concealed weapons are prohibited on these premises. Security is also available to provide escorts to and from hospital parking lots if needed. Call 270.752.2111 from outside the hospital or ext. 2111 from inside the hospital or ask the hospital operator to call for you.

BANKING SERVICES

BB&T and the Murray Bank offer 24 Hour Banking. An Automated Teller Machine is located on the first floor in the North Tower near the cafeteria for your convenience.

FLOWER AND MAIL DELIVERY

Friends and family should send cards and letters to the patient’s attention, Murray-Calloway County Hospital, 803 Poplar Street, Murray, KY 42071. Mail arriving after a patient goes home will be forwarded to his or her home address.

TELEPHONE SERVICE

Local calls: Dial 9, then the local number including the area code of 270.
Long distance calls:
To place a long distance call, dial 0 for the hospital operator.
Family and friends may call your room: In the North Tower, dial 270-762-1+ your room number. In the South Tower, dial 270-752-1+ your room number.

CAFETERIA

Visitors are welcome in the cafeteria located on the first floor of the North Tower. Breakfast is served from 6:30 – 10:00 a.m., Lunch from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. and Dinner from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.

*the cafeteria is closed for evening meals on holidays and weekends.

LOST AND FOUND

Misplaced items are kept for 30 days after they are found. Notify your nurse as soon as you realize your loss. If you are at home, call Environmental Services at 270.762.1125.

PIC-A-DILLY GIFT SHOPPE

MCCH Gift ShopLocated in the Medical Arts Building, across from the Medical Arts Pharmacy, The Pic-a-Dilly Gift Shoppe carries balloons, flowers, candy, magazines, unique gifts, postage stamps, and personal care items.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MasterCard and Visa are accepted. Call the Gift Shoppe from outside the hospital at 270.762.1275 or ext. 1275 from inside the hospital or click here to visit the Gift Shoppe page.

The Gift Shoppe is sponsored by the MCCH Auxiliary and operated by hospital volunteers. Proceeds are used to purchase hospital equipment and improve services.

PASTORAL SERVICES

Pastoral Care is available for counseling, prayer, communion, bereavement care, crisis intervention, weddings, funerals, and other spiritual and emotional support for you and your family. Call 270.762.1274 from outside the hospital or ext. 1274 if calling from within the hospital or ask your nurse to call for you. The chapel, located just off the North Tower lobby, is open 24 hours a day for prayer and meditation.

BLOOD BANK

The Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s blood bank is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To find out more about or to donate blood or platelets, call 270.762.1119.
