Clinical Psychology provides accessible, client-centered care that helps individuals manage their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being while allowing them to continue with their daily lives and responsibilities. Our multi-disciplinary team is experienced at treating a variety of psychiatric, neurological, neurosurgical, and cognitive disorders.

Services

Assessment and Diagnosis:  Initial assessments to understand your mental health concerns, symptoms, and history.  Interviews, questionnaires, and standardized assessments are used to diagnose mental health disorders accurately.

Psychotherapy: This is the primary focus of outpatient services. Psychotherapy involves talking with one of our trained therapists to address mental health challenges, develop coping skills, and work toward personal goals. Different modalities of therapy may be used, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and others, depending on your needs.

Medication Management: In cases where medication is part of the treatment plan, our psychiatrists or other medical professionals may be involved in prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications. This is often integrated with psychotherapy for comprehensive treatment.

Group Therapy: We offer group therapy sessions for patients with a cancer diagnosis or living with a chronic illness. This is an opportunity to come together to share experiences, provide mutual support, and learn from each other under the guidance of a trained therapist. Our “Terrible, thanks for asking” group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at the MCCH Wellness Center. Please call (270) 762-1570 to register.

Family Therapy: In situations where family dynamics contribute to mental health issues, family therapy may be offered. This involves working with the client and their family members to address conflicts, improve communication, and foster healthier relationships.

We collaborate with other clinicians throughout MCCH, including neurology, bariatrics, rehabilitation, oncology and primary care.
