MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital is hosting its MCCH Summer Healthcare Camp Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4, providing local high school students with an introduction to careers and opportunities in healthcare.

The four-day camp is designed to give students hands-on exposure to a variety of healthcare fields and departments throughout the hospital. Participants will learn from healthcare professionals across multiple specialties while gaining insight into the many career paths available in today’s healthcare environment.

Students will rotate through various areas of the hospital, including clinical and support services, to better understand the teamwork and skills involved in patient care. The camp will also feature a mock disaster drill, allowing students to observe and participate in emergency preparedness scenarios and coordinated response efforts.

“MCCH is excited to invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing students with real-world experiences and meaningful interaction with our staff,” said Lori Callihan, Clinical Educator. “We hope this camp inspires students to explore future careers in healthcare and strengthens awareness of the many opportunities available within our region.”

The MCCH Summer Healthcare Camp reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to education, workforce development, and community engagement.
