MURRAY, KY – A cardiac MRI is a highly advanced, noninvasive imaging study that provides detailed assessment of heart structure, blood flow, and function. It is a powerful tool for diagnosing complex conditions such as cardiomyopathy, congenital abnormalities, scarring from prior heart attacks, and heart failure.

“This is an exciting advancement in the services we can provide for our community,” said Dr. Ali Homayuni, Interventional Cardiologist at MCCH. “Cardiac MRI provides a deeper, more accurate understanding of heart function, allowing us to diagnose and treat patients with even greater precision.”

Dr. William Lehmkuhler, Interventional Cardiologist, emphasized the benefits for patient care and access. “Adding cardiac MRI to our diagnostic capabilities enhances our ability to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care right here in Murray. It’s a significant step forward for our program and for the patients we serve.”

The introduction of cardiac MRI aligns with MCCH’s long-term commitment to investing in advanced technology and strengthening its cardiovascular services. The achievement is the result of collaboration across the imaging team, cardiology specialists, and hospital leadership.

“This milestone reflects our mission to continually expand access to innovative, high-quality healthcare close to home,” said Reba Celsor, CEO of MCCH. “We are incredibly proud of our cardiology and imaging teams for bringing this important service to our community.”
