MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) is proud to recognize Valerie Curd, RN, of the Regional Cancer Center Infusion Therapy department, as its February Employee of the Month.

Valerie has served MCCH for 17 years and is being honored for her dedication to patient care, leadership among peers, and unwavering compassion. In Infusion Therapy, she supports patients undergoing chemotherapy and other specialized treatments, providing both clinical expertise and emotional support during difficult moments.

Her coworkers describe Valerie as an essential part of the team, noting, “She is the glue that helps hold the Infusion Center together. Valerie is always happy to answer questions and help those of us new to infusion learn the ins and outs of chemotherapy. She is often the calm in a crisis and our biggest cheerleader day in and day out.”

They added, “Valerie’s outstanding service and the strength she lends to fellow nurses on the hardest days do not go unnoticed. She cheers her patients on while also giving them a shoulder to cry on. She is the kind of nurse I strive to become one day.”

Valerie builds meaningful relationships with patients and their families, creating a supportive environment. When asked what she loves most about working at MCCH, she shared,

“I love the people I work with and the patients that come in and getting to know their families. You fall in love with them all.”

Valerie exemplifies the mission and values of MCCH through her compassion, teamwork, and commitment to excellence, making her truly deserving of this recognition.
