MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) recently named Mary “Sue” Doran, Unit Secretary on 4 South, as the August Employee of the Month.

 

Doran has been a dedicated member of the MCCH team for nearly five years, joining the organization in October 2021. In her nomination, Doran was described as “the glue that holds 4 South together day in and day out,” and praised for the positive attitude and welcoming smile she shares with patients, visitors and coworkers.

 

Her nomination also highlighted the many ways Doran goes above and beyond for patients. After noticing several patients with memory issues who were restless and unsettled, Doran researched activity options and helped obtain adult fidget books for the unit to help keep their hands and minds occupied. She also makes a point to recognize patient birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions, and helps ensure mail received after a patient’s discharge makes its way to them.

 

Whether assisting a lost visitor, helping a patient feel more at home, or supporting her coworkers, Doran consistently demonstrates compassion and a willingness to help.

 

“Sue is a shining example of the all-around employee we should all strive to be like,” her nominator shared.
