MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) is proud to celebrate Brian Swain, MD, on an impressive milestone: completing his 1,000th robotic surgery at MCCH.
Dr. Swain has been instrumental in the development and success of the robotic surgery program at MCCH, performing the hospital’s first robotic-assisted surgery in 2023. Since the program’s implementation, he has transitioned a significant portion of his surgical practice to robotic-assisted procedures, helping expand access to advanced surgical technology for patients throughout the region.
Dr. Swain utilizes robotic-assisted technology to perform a variety of procedures, including bariatric surgery, cholecystectomies, colectomies, appendectomies, and hernia repairs.
Reaching 1,000 robotic surgeries represents not only a significant achievement for Dr. Swain, but also an important milestone for the continued growth of surgical services at MCCH.
“Behind each of these 1,000 surgeries is a person who has entrusted us with their care,” said Reba Celsor, CEO of Murray-Calloway County Hospital. “We are proud of Dr. Swain and our entire surgical team for their dedication to expanding access to advanced surgical care close to home. This milestone reflects both their commitment to excellence and the trust our community places in MCCH.”
MCCH congratulates Dr. Swain on his 1,000th robotic surgery and thanks him for his continued dedication to providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout our community.
