MURRAY, KY – Alicia Erwin, RN, in the Acute Inpatient Rehab Unit, has been named MCCH’s Employee of the Month for January. Alicia has been employed at MCCH for five years and was nominated by her peers an incredible 13 times — a true testament to how highly her coworkers regard her.

 

Her colleagues describe her as an amazing teammate who consistently goes above and beyond for both patients and fellow staff members. Alicia is often the first to volunteer to help in any situation, whether that means picking up extra shifts, sitting at a patient’s bedside, or offering support wherever it’s needed. She regularly spends extra time with patients and serves as a cheerleader for others. It’s not uncommon for Alicia to break into song to lift someone’s spirits and brighten their day.

 

Alicia possesses many qualities that make her deserving of this recognition, but above all, she is kind and compassionate to everyone she encounters.

 

One coworker shared,

“Alicia is by far one of the most experienced, kind, and competent nurses I have met. She is always upbeat and treats everyone – staff and patients alike – so well. She loves to sing and is very uplifting and encouraging with her patients and their families. She is an expert at providing comfort and reassurance to family members. If I were in the hospital, I would 100% trust Alicia with my care and would be blessed to have her as my nurse.”

 

Another coworker added,

“She consistently embodies the highest standards of nursing excellence, making her the ideal candidate for Employee of the Month. Most of all, Alicia is a pure joy to work with, and our patients love her. She lifts the morale of our team when she is here.”
