It’s a BOY:  Murray-Calloway County Hospital Welcomes First Baby of 2026

MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital is thrilled to announce the arrival of the first baby born in the new year. Baby Logan Blake, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches, made his grand debut at 7:48 a.m. on January 1, 2026, marking a joyful start to the year for the family and the hospital.

Proud parents, Kendra and Dylon, from Murray, KY, expressed their excitement and gratitude as they welcomed their new baby boy, stating, “We are overjoyed to start the year with this beautiful blessing.” The parents are excited to get Logan home to meet his big sister, Violet.

“The staff at Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s, Perinatal Services Department, has been incredible, making this experience all the more special.” said Kendra.

The hospital’s maternity team, led by Dr. Karla Turley, provided exceptional care throughout the pregnancy and delivery, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both parents and their newborn.

“Welcoming the first baby of the year is always a moment of celebration for our hospital family and we are honored to be part of this special moment in the lives of our patients.” said Dr. Turley.

The family was given a gift basket containing a variety of baby items from MCCH as well as donations made by area businesses such as Cracker Barrel, The Plaid Rabbit, Ribbon Chix, Shogun Japanese Steak & Sushi Restaurant, Chicken Salad Chick, and Jade & June Photography, that donated a “Hey Honey Newborn Session”.
