MURRAY, KY – Keena Miller, Director of the Center for Health and Wellness at Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH), is retiring after 25 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, mentorship, and dedication to community wellness.
With a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida, Keena began her career opening wellness centers focused on cardiac and pulmonary rehab. After moving to Kentucky, she became a registered nurse and championed preventive care through roles with the Purchase District Health Department and Kentucky Department for Education. Recruited by former MCCH CEO Stuart Poston, Keena led the development of Western Kentucky’s first Medical Fitness facility, transforming the Center for Health and Wellness into a community hub for integrated health and fitness.
Known for her leadership and mentorship, Keena takes pride in helping others grow professionally. “Watching employees develop a passion for healthcare has been incredibly rewarding,” she shared. When asked what advice she’d give to those entering healthcare, Keena offered thoughtful guidance: “Give careful consideration to the path you choose—there are so many opportunities. Follow your passion and never stop learning. There’s no age limit to growing your skills.”
As she retires, Keena looks forward to spending time with family and hopes to continue serving others through volunteer work. MCCH honors Keena’s exceptional contributions and lasting impact on the hospital and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but always remembered for her leadership, vision, and heart for service.
