MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) is pleased to recognize Norton Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Pandemic Network for their generous donation of a Carter Kit Sensory Bag to the MCCH Emergency Department.

Emergency room visits can be overwhelming for any child, but for children with autism or sensory sensitivities, the unfamiliar sights, sounds, and activity of an emergency department can create additional stress and anxiety. The Carter Kit provides sensory tools designed to help reduce anxiety and sensory overload, giving healthcare professionals additional resources to create a calmer, more supportive environment for pediatric patients and their families.

The donation is part of MCCH’s ongoing partnership with Norton Children’s Hospital, which continues to play an important role in strengthening pediatric emergency readiness at MCCH. Through education, resources, and collaboration, the partnership helps equip MCCH team members to better recognize and respond to the unique needs of children who seek emergency care. Resources such as the Carter Kit support MCCH’s commitment to providing individualized, compassionate care for every child who comes through its doors, including those who may have unique sensory or developmental needs.

MCCH remains committed to enhancing pediatric readiness and ensuring children throughout the region have access to high-quality, compassionate emergency care close to home.

Murray-Calloway County Hospital extends its appreciation to Norton Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Pandemic Network for their continued partnership and shared commitment to improving care for pediatric patients.
