MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) recently partnered with AHEC to host a Summer Healthcare Camp, providing high school students from across the region with an opportunity to explore the diverse career paths available within the healthcare industry.

Throughout the camp, students visited several hospital departments and interacted with healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines. The experience was designed to give participants a firsthand look at the skills, technology, and teamwork involved in delivering quality patient care.

Through interactive and hands-on learning opportunities, campers stepped into the world of healthcare and gained valuable insight into the profession. Students participated in activities such as testing blood types in the laboratory, learning about cardiac catheterization procedures, and taking part in a disaster drill simulation. These experiences allowed students to apply concepts in a real-world setting while learning about the many roles that contribute to patient care.

The Summer Healthcare Camp reflects MCCH’s commitment to supporting healthcare education and workforce development throughout the region. By connecting students with healthcare professionals and hands-on experiences, the program helps inspire the next generation of nurses, physicians, therapists, laboratory professionals, and other healthcare leaders.
