MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) and The Foundation at MCCH are proud to announce the naming of the Jack Hollister Regional Cancer Center in recognition of a transformational seven-figure estate gift left by Jack Hollister.
Through his generosity and vision, Hollister designated his estate to benefit the Regional Cancer Center, creating a lasting legacy that will support cancer care for generations to come.
Board members, hospital staff, Foundation Senior Philanthropy Officer Lisa Shoemaker, and guests gathered for a special unveiling ceremony to honor Hollister’s extraordinary generosity and celebrate the naming of the Jack Hollister Regional Cancer Center.
“While Mr. Hollister is no longer with us, his gift represents an extraordinary investment in the health and well-being of our community,” said MCCH CEO Reba Celsor. “His generosity will have a lasting impact on patients and families facing cancer, helping ensure they have access to exceptional care close to home.”
“This gift is a testament to the incredible impact one person can have,” said Shoemaker. “Through his estate gift, Jack Hollister helped ensure that hope, healing, and support will be available for cancer patients and their families throughout our region.”
Opened in June 2023, the Regional Cancer Center brought innovative cancer services to the community in a state-of-the-art facility located in the North Tower of Murray-Calloway County Hospital. The center provides convenient access to comprehensive cancer care and serves thousands of patients annually through a multidisciplinary team of specialists and sub-specialists dedicated to treating a wide range of cancers.
The Cancer Program at Murray-Calloway County Hospital is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS), reflecting the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered cancer care.
Hollister’s gift will help strengthen that mission by supporting the ongoing advancement of cancer services and resources for patients throughout the region.
The newly named Jack Hollister Regional Cancer Center stands as a tribute to a man whose commitment to helping others will continue making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families for years to come.
